On October 17 at 6pm we’ll be hosting our annual Fall Supper at the Avenue Room. Ticket prices haven’t changed: $65 for non-members, $55 for members and students for a four-course meal of locally sourced ingredients.
The dinner is a fundraiser for Slow Food – we use the funds to send local chefs and students to Terra Madre, Slow Food International’s biannual conference in Turin, Italy, This year, you’ll hear from Rina Veltkamp, who is leaving for this year’s conference on September 24.
Last year’s dinner was a roaring success:

Curious about our menu for this year? We’ve got some ambitious plans for you. We’re working on a stand-up cocktail style appetizer course where chefs match up with local producers to create bite-sized appies. Learn about local food, meet local chefs and hear about their restaurants and projects, and have some snacks while exploring our silent auction and raffle items. We hosted an event like this at our Slow Food in Canada Summit, and it was a great success. This is a mini-version of that, and a chance to mingle and sample during the cocktail hour – and Ken and Cheryl Schumacher will be there again to share samples of their locally grown lentils.

Our main meal after the appetizers will include a vegan lentil soup à la Fresh Dish Catering, followed by:
• Roast Farm One Forty pork with rhubarb sauce
• Vegan/vegetarian option: vegetable terrine
• Braised cabbage with crabapples
• Potatoes of the day
• Mushrooms of the day
• Roasted root vegetable
Dessert will be charcuterie board style, with cookies, local bakery items, fruit compotes and more.
Tickets are available now until October 12.
Hope to see you there!
